In honor of our 17-Year Anniversary, we’d like you to meet the owners of Cedar Eaters of Texas: Pam and Stan Hegener, who founded the company in April 2001. Before Cedar Eaters, they managed a large (500+ employee) industrial construction/pipeline company in Louisiana for more than 15 years—so they bring a lot of experience to the table! Pam brings a background in HR and Business Management, while Stan has a background in Industrial Construction and Operations.
They originally intended to retire in the Texas Hill Country and bought a ranch and one small mulching machine to help manage their brush. Over time, they saw a growing need in the community for these brush clearing services and created a company to address this need. In 2016, they expanded their operations and moved their headquarters to 10 acres on the Guadalupe River in Comfort, Texas. They now have a fleet of Cedar Eaters and service the entire state of Texas and into Oklahoma and New Mexico.
Their son, Spence Hegener, is now part owner and Operations Manager at the company. He recently moved his family to McGregor, Texas (near Waco) and opened a North Division of Cedar Eaters. He plans to continue growing the family business into the next generation and beyond.
