Cedar Eaters has maintained a strong industry reputation since its founding in 2001. Serving clients across Texas, with expansion into Oklahoma and New Mexico, the mission we strive to achieve in our family-owned business is to provide quality state-of-the-art land clearing that maintains the balance needed in natural landscapes and to exceed our client’s expectations.
Cedar Eaters: How it All Began
Pam and Stan Hegener founded the Cedar Eaters of Texas in April 2001. Before Cedar Eaters, they managed a large (500+ employee) industrial pipeline construction company in Louisiana for more than 15 years.
Originally intending to retire in the Texas Hill Country, Pam and Stan bought a ranch near Bergheim, Texas, and one small cedar mulching machine to help manage their brush. They started Cedar Eaters after they saw a growing need for quality brush clearing services in the area. In 2016, they expanded their operations and moved their headquarters to a larger property in Comfort, Texas, where they now have a whole fleet of Cedar Eater™ machines that services the entire state of Texas and some parts of Oklahoma and New Mexico.
The Hegeners know from personal experience that you have the potential to increase the value of your land, by investing in the cedar and land clearing of your property.
Pam and Stan’s son, Spence Hegener, joined the company in 2005 and is now part of the ownership group. As Operations Manager, he oversaw the opening of the northern division of Cedar Eaters in McGregor, Texas. His plan is to grow the family business into the next generation and beyond.
